Conor McKee is a playwright from Northern Ireland, living and working in the North of England.
He is currently in post production for Macbeth, which toured from 7th -23rd November 2013. Performances took place in The Studio, Edge Hill University, Salford Arts Theatre, Seven @ Leeds, Action Transport Theatre and The Courtyard, London.
As a writer, Conor has just received funding for a peer mentoring scheme, which will see him work with fellow playwright Ian Winterton. The two writers will share skills as they work on their individual plays Heel (Ian) and Campaigner (Conor).
Conor has successfully delivered 10 Arts Council England (ACE) funded projects, including R&D/production/national touring of three of his full length plays – Burnt, Thrasher and Home.
He has also produced the previously successful 2012 tour of Macbeth in partnership with Kenan Ali, Cathy Shiel, Troop Theatre, Oldham Coliseum and The Met, Bury.
Script development experience includes chairing the actor involved script development service Scriptworks, currently in partnership with Contact, Manchester for five years and managing ACE funded writer development schemes Script4Stage and Shortwaves.
Together with Wyllie Longmore he has developed a unique actor-involved script development method that underpins both their own creative practice as well as development initiatives offered for actors, writers and directors.
